Friday March 20 news from Q4U

I had to go to my quilt store today (fabric delivery is coming), post office and bank.  I am so proud of my community and some of the changes I have noticed:

Few cars on the road today

My bank has closed the lobby (unless by appointment) and is asking customers to utilize the drive-up window as much as possible.

My dentist called and asked if they could reschedule my appointment for two weeks due to the virus.  I did.

My grocery store (HyVee) has changed their hours to 8 - 8 to they can restock the store in the evenings.  In addition, they are opening from 7-8:00 a.m. for elderly customers or those with medical issues who shouldn't be around other people.   I believe you can still order on-line and do curb side pickup or have it delivered.  I suspect many other grocery stores do the same thing....you might check with them.    HyVee also has a carton in the entryway if you wish to make a canned food donation for the Food Bank.  I am sure they will have a great need.

The post office was very slow today.  It appears customers are in deed trying to stay home if they can and as long as they can.

One of my fabric vendors ask that stores notify them if they need to cancel their fabric order due to temporary store closings.  They are charged if it gets returned and they have to ship it a second time.  Therefore, I have contacted all of my fabric vendors and requested they delay fabric shipments to me until May 1st.  I have received many positive replies.  I have one more shipment coming Monday or Tuesday that couldn't be stopped so I should have a few new things to share in my next newsletter.

Changes at Quilt 4 U:

Due to 36 people now in Missouri who have the virus, I am extending my store closing to May 1st.  Therefore, all club meetings and classes for the month of April will be cancelled.

Tomorrow, March 21 is sewing machine repair  drop-off and pick-up from 10:00 - noon (or can be scheduled by calling me a 573 424 5051).  When you receive an invoice from Daniel, you will know it is ready and the amount due.  Please drive up to the door and we can help load /unload  if needed.  If you want to pay by check, you won't even after to come in.  Make the check payable to Quilt 4 U.

If you are dropping off and don't want to come in, please make a note:  clean and service?, any issues that you are aware of that need to be checked, your name, phone number and e-mail.

Be safe!
