Finishing a Quilt Top With Carol



Supplies:

Sewing machine in good working order (owner’s manual)

Quilt top

Rotary cutter, cutting mat and 6 x 24 ruler

Microtex or Sharps 80/12 or 90/14 needle

Sewing foot: N or J

Thread snips, fabric scissors

Thread for quilting: can be cotton or polyester/ solid or variegated

Construction thread

small mini clips

Cotton batting: 6” – 8” larger than the size of quilt top (width and length)

Backing fabric: 6” – 8” larger that the size of quilt top (width and length)

Binding: will be measured in class for amount needed (usually need 1/3–½ yard)

Curved quilting safety pins about 1 ½’ length (do not get the shorter ones)

fabric 505 temporary spray

Optional:

Walking foot for your machine

Crochet hook (I will bring some to class if needed)

Binding foot for your machine
